Corpoguajira carried out the Territorial Environmental Planning Workshop, in the main and territorial headquarters of the South of the Corporation, addressed to the mayors and the planning offices of each municipality with the aim of making known the guidelines that in environmental matters should be incorporated in the formulation projects and their updates, placing special emphasis on the determining factors of the territory such as risk management and the environmental baseline.

The workshop also promoted the inclusion in these instruments, of aspects related to climate change, land use conflicts in the department of La Guajira and the information and communications technologies chapter. During the activity, the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development participated through the Directorate of Territorial Environmental Planning and the Directorate of Risk Management and Climate Change, the Ministry of ICTs, the Agustín Codazzi Geographical Institute and the officials of the Corpoguajira Territorial Environmental Planning group.

The Regional Autonomous Corporation of La Guajira, through the Environmental Management program, leads two fundamental projects: Planning, Territorial Environmental Information and Management and the Project for Risk Management and Adaptation to Climate Change, which are based on the indicators of the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, in accordance with its legal and political provisions.

The above, with the aim of ensuring the environmentally sustainable development of the territory, based on the comprehensive analysis of its biotic and abiotic resources and the socioeconomic factors that affect it, and that interact with land use planning.
