The Regional Autonomous Corporation of La Guajira, develops actions that will allow the updating of the regulation of the use of the waters of the river Jerez, in the municipality of Dibulla.
The project aims to generate knowledge about the recovery capacity of the river based on its loads and the current and future quality of the precious liquid; guarantee your
ecological flow for the proper functioning of the ecosystem; reduce conflict over the use of the resource and consolidate mechanisms for saving water.

This is how Samuel Lanao Robles explained it, General Manager Corpoguajira, who additionally indicated that "through these works we obtain a fundamental tool in relation to decision making for the allocation of flows and for the control of quality objectives. It is pertinent that, together with the community, let's organize the use of water so that each user has their specified flow and we know exactly what and how it is being used ".

The environmental authority specified that these actions, executed jointly with the Clean Development Engineering company, They also include the determination of the total and available supply of the river Jerez, your water demand, assimilation capacity, consumption modules and the distribution of flows per user.

Adding to the above, Corpoguajira reported that different socialization sessions have been held with local communities, as well as the development of awareness campaigns on the protection of this important natural resource. It should be noted that this project has a duration of eight months..
