Planning secretaries of the municipalities of La Guajira gathered at the premises of the Regional Autonomous Corporation of La Guajira got to know the current status of management plans of municipalities, in the workshop led by the environmental authority called »State of the POT, PBOT or EOT of the territorial entities in the process of agreeing on environmental issues and determinants with the corporation»

The day addressed to provide technical assistance and support to local authorities to update and implement land use planning processes, important strategy for economic development planning, social and environmental development of the territories, which allowed attendees to learn the regulatory framework and environmental determinants for the respective formulation comply with paragraph 5 from the article 31 de la ley 99 of 1993 and Article 31 de la ley 1523 of 2012.

As well as knowing the importance of the inclusion of climate change, risk management disaster, and the need for a geographic information system that allows georeferencing all social aspects, economic, physical, environmental, and biotic Township, organizing in a database that compiles and structure each spatial phenomenon of territorial entity allowing analysis aimed in the right decision.

The state management plans exposed by the corporation reflects the 15 municipalities, only Riohacha, Uribía and Albania are concluded their environmental issues, Manaure municipalities, El Molino, Distraction and San Juan del Cesar are in the process of consultation and the remaining municipalities (8) to date they have not started the process.
